Professor William Hoye from the University of Münster was present as a special guest, and his recently published book, The Emergence of Eternal Life, provided valuable opportunities for the team to reflect more deeply on the themes under investigation. Additionally, Karl Barth’s lectures on 1 Corinthians, The Resurrection of the Deadand a collection of materials concentrated around 1 Corinthians 15 were also used to stimulate further thought and discussion.

First Workshop

The research team gathered in Aberdeen for the first time on September 11-13, 2014.

Two works provided the launching-point for discussion of the themes under consideration.

Anthony Thiselton's The Last Things (alternatively titled, Life After Death: A New Approach to the Last Things)

A forthcoming work by Markus Mühling also prompted fruitful discussion.

The next workshop will take place in January 2015.
